Monsoon :: Superbloom

Inspired by the transness and collective power of water to change form and phase, to reshape both itself and its environment, and to bring life back to even the most dead and damaged places, Monsoon::Superbloom brings together a storm of trans voices reclaiming our authority over our own stories, our resiliency in the face of hostility, and our capacity to dream, more vibrant futures. Part speculative oral history project, part experimental sound art installation, part emergency T4T social practice project, Monsoon::Superbloom weaves together audio recordings from participants’ interviews, field recordings of water and birds collected from the International Bird Rescue and Death Valley during this Spring's Superbloom, with live performance.

Intention: listen, hold, amplify, become the storm that can clear away the present and transform this broken dry land into a field of wildness and flowers: so many that they cannot crush us all. Catharsis as rupture and communion. SUMMON THE RAIN.
